10 Steps to Better Web Research

1.  Make a list of key search terms and add to it as you search.

2.  Use special terms and connectors. (See Google Guide link.)

3.  Be skeptical.  Don't believe everything you read.

4.  Search engines are not always the best place to start your search.

5.  Try several search engines, not just one.  (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.)

6.  Dig deep.  The best results are not always at the top.

7.  Are you looking at a primary source?  Why not?

8.  Who created the website and writes its articles?

9.  When was the information written or last revised?

10.  Are advertisements clearly labeled or masked as information?
